Fake toy Shotgun

Postby Manya91 » March 26th, 2013, 12:30 am

Hi there guys!

I've read the rules, but i just want to make something sure.
Seeing as this is an obvious fake shotgun and it fits perfectly on my back without hindering anyone else, i just want to make sure if this is against the rules or not.

Image

this Shotgun will be on my back at all times, only on request by a photographer will i pose with it.
(i will be dressed as a security officer from Jurassic Park that got attacked by a raptor)

a friend of mine is also coming along and she would like to bring a Nerf gun to finish her cosplay.
are Nerf guns allowed or are they also prohibited?

Kind regards,
Manya

Sorry, this is against the rules AND the law (thank you George, it's what I meant, but failed to write). :)
There is no way for someone, trained or not, to make a toy gun out of this from several meters away, so we kindly ask you to keep this somewhere safe outside photoshoots.

Nerf guns, if they are kept in their original colour(ful) scheme and looks, are allowed, as far as we know.

Its not just against the rules, it's against Dutch law to even own this.
It just looks too real.

I really have to request that you leave this at home.

Nerf guns are allowed, but this we cannot allow, not even for photoshoots.

i actually asked a cop about this and he said its okay, as long as i keep it for personal use only :)
no worries about that, i know the law, am trained in it.
thats why i wanted to make sure before making any decisions about having any kind of toy gun on me.

i'll let my friend know about the nerf gun.
is it possible that she can spraypaint a watergun in various bright colours?
it kinda looks like its a outer space weapon, will that be allowed ?

De kleur van een nepwapen telt niet mee om te bepalen of het nepwapen sprekend lijkt op een echt (vuur)wapen. Het enige dat telt, zijn de vorm en de afmeting van het nepwapen.
Just in case some people tend to paint stuff.

And this is the real thing, het maakt net zulke lelijke gaten als haar minder kleurrijke soortgenoten.
