iDEAL - first ticket booth hitch?

Of course, as soon as 1-11-12 rolled round, I logged in to buy a ticket. This year, the ticket booth encouraged paying through iDEAL. However, when I chose that option, I didn't see the usual iDEAL screen, just some info to transfer the money through electronic banking. So that's what I did.

The iDEAL screen was supposed to appear, wasn't it? I'm sure a lot of people would love to save the con organizers trouble by using iDEAL, but it doesn't seem to work.

I had a similar problem last night. When the ticket booth opened, I noticed there was an early bird discount. I didn't want to miss out on that, because I was planning on visiting a weekend with my friend anyway. I was really happy to see IDeal was one of the paying options, since it processes the payment immediately. When I wanted to pay with IDeal, it gave me an error, saying that IDeal is not available at that time and I should try later or try another payment option. I manually made the money over for my ticket with the included account information with the option: Dutch electronic banking (non iDEAL). It's from an ING account to an ING account, so I hope my money arrives soon.

Hi everybody, sorry for the late reply. The ticket sales started, we got a new forum and we changed e-mail servers so I became a bit slow.


iDEAL works only when both your bank and our bank (the ING) and the site of ideal organisation are working properly - and of course our own site has to work as well. So when the system tells you that iDEAL is not available, then that is not a bug in our system but just one of those three sites telling us that they have a problem. These problems can be of very short duration. Most of the time iDEAL is working fine as most visitors have already paid their tickets using iDEAL.

When you pay manually using your bank account we have to process your payment manually. We do this about once a week this long before the festival, very slowly increasing the check rate until we check it multiple times a day in the the days before the festival.


We are working on two extensions of our system. First we want all payment mails to include a link for paying using iDEAL and second we want to implement PayPal. However I cannot promise a delivery date as I have some customers bugging me about doing some work for them. ;)
