Post by patries2004 » January 17th, 2016, 4:53 pm

Hi all

I have a question my daugther, she is thirteen recently discovered manga and anime
she is really in to death note at the moment. She wants to go to the convention. With me
of course but it is our first time if we decide to go. Can anyone tell me a little bit more about
it. And if it is suitable voor a kid her age. Thank you in advance

Hi Patricia,

Welcome to our forum!
We occasionally get parents wondering/worrying about what to do at AnimeCon with some of our younger visitors. We have a parent FAQ especially for this:
http://www.animecon.nl/faq/parent-faq

It all depends on what your daughter wants to do at AnimeCon, the majority of our events (workshops, cosplay, games and events) are suitable for most ages, however we also feature some games and anime that might be less suitable for younger audiences due to violence or partial nudity, the same goes for the 18+ events serving alcohol which are mostly hosted at night.

Last years program can be found at:
http://program.animecon.nl/2015

A short movie showing some highlights of our previous festival can be found here:

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask them in either Dutch or English and I'd be glad to anwser them for you :)

Also take note that events that we mark as being 18+ are forbidden for minors, people who want to enter have to show their ID's and thereby give us conformation that they are at least 18 years of age.

To give some more information: the average age of our visitors is 22 but we get visitors from all ages, including children aged younger than 12. She certainly won't be the only 13 year old and more than 2/3's of the visitors her age will are girls.

She also won't be the only Death Note fan.

Lastly: we do have both professional and volunteer security, but our public is very self disciplined. She will be safe. We have a wide and varied program, so her greatest risk is of fun overload.
