I checked it out 3hrs ago, no feedback thread. And since still none excists; feedback thread!

Post your pro's and con's from Anime 2013 so the organisation can get some feedback and maybe adjust things for the next year.

This year my pro and con list will be short...

Pro:
- Henk Patat
- Wide open areas on the con side to just hang out, meet up
- Super friendly staff from both the Novotel and World Forum. Not as hostile as i.e. Abunai Zwolle's location staff.

Con:
- Empty walls, no posters etc.
- People crowding up, making photo's etc. on the staircases.
- Expensive food court, hence why Henk Patat is a pro.
- Ungodly stupid visitors that were ungodly rude and unpolite if it came to advice and questions
- A terrible draft through the whole building together with air con units working all build up to being cold cold cold
- Unclear con schedule, but already told Robert about this.

What exactly was unclear about the schedule?

Well, there was the animation cels and sketches wall near the dressing rooms/right side entrances to the theater.

As for the empty walls: The Gameroom had enough Anime and Game posters to provide the entire World Forum with new wallpaper. Unfortunately for some reason they prefer their walls intact, and where worried people putting up random posters would damage the walls.

Sadly I have to agree with them since in the past in Alemelo people put up their own flyers and posters and stuff without asking the staff/hotel for permission which caused some damage.

All in all: It's a shame we can't but in my humble opinion not a huge loss.

Perhaps the 'unclear' thing was that the schedule was printed vertically instead of horizontally?
Nothing unclear about it for me though.

Upfront: I am not part of the JPOP staff, I just help out.
I would say as for -
food pricing:
those were the prices set by an external catering that WorldForum (most likely) hired for this event.

the draft:
I only noticed the draft at the entrance of the building. Didn't notice a draft at the foodcourt.

people standing on the staircase:
I would say that that was a great location for making pictures. Open and bright.

An improvement point that I would say would be for the DDR room:
Place an airo unit there from the start till the end.
Makes for better airconditions and smell. :?

I think DDR and Karaoke should get an other location altogether. This room was small, 'sfeerloos', and just not right, in my book.

I agree on you with location of ddr and karaoke, i think a more vibrant location is available in the world forum.
Im happy to hear about draft in stead of god where is the airco ;). I assume this can be tackled next edition, for we are in the summer month then. (hotter outside).

My feedback
+I was very happy with the snackbar outside (not the wf one)
+Location gets easier to navigate then almelo or any other con location :D
+Martial Arts Workshops, i truly enjoyed the enthausiastic teachers of Lu Gia Jen!! (it was awesome!)
+Xbox kinect event + coupons for snackycakes at mac.
+Huge stage + loads of compo's
+Gameroom / Arcade !

-Please give act/name reference when awards are given.
-Smell during sunday... ?
-Videoslots missed some bit of timing.
-A bit of comedy variation by the presenting duo could be of use.;)
-Murphy's law :P

Totally agreed with that one Himu-sama.

My feedback will be

Pros:
+snackbar outside
+bigger place, larger location for event/gameroom/dealerroom and place to take pictures
+more games, espacially arcade like the initial D and house of dead.
+free coupons

Cons:
-Some gophers missing during their shift
-food price at food court
-some event/video program was messed up because of muphy's law and miscommunication

i guess that's it =p

Here's my little list, this was the first time I ever attended an animecon and it was very enjoyable.
I don't think I saw any of that ungodly rudeness that OP mentioned, besides a few people taking pictures during the concert after they were told not to.

Pros:
-the parking is under 5 minutes walking distance
-roomy areas
-great variety of games in the game room (loved the MAME machine and afterburner!)
-great variety of stuff to find in the dealer room
-friendly people everywhere in general
-foodcourt still open in the middle of the night
-sweet concert

Cons:
-getting plucked out of the room by staff in the middle of an event that goes past midnight
Me and my friends were attending the 18+ youkai game and all of a sudden our friend had to leave. While we had weekend tickets he had a ticket for a single day. This did not make much sense to me at all, at least let somebody finish the event and tell them to leave when it's over. Strictly speaking it is the next day but does that really matter?
-foodcourt pricing, but that's not entirely unexpected for event catering at a big venue
-like others mentioned the DDR and karaoke room could've been bigger/nicer
-Maybe add another karaoke room, I heard from various people that the waiting list was enormous.
Or have the option of singing TV length songs to speed things along.
-dedicated Visitor Board on these forums for exchanging pictures and contact information (I just found a thread in the cosplay section)
-it was a bit unclear which events you needed to be signed up for
-no glowsticks available for the concert

Looking at it from the other side, you could question why your friend joined that event when he should have known that he would have to leave before the end of the event...
(you don't go watch a movie in the cinema that lasts from for ex. 15:30-18:00h if you need to be home for dinner at 18:00h, now do you. ;) )

mijn feedback:

Complimenten daarvoor!
(Abunai ga ik bijv. maar 2 dagen naartoe omdat ik anders waarschijnlijk te veel tegen "been there, done that, seen that" syndroom aan loop na events sinds 1997 en Kinjin sinds 2004... ;) )

- De Murphy's Law berg genaamd mijn 06:00-10:00u shift op zaterdag zet ik straks even op mail naar gopherplanning.
