This was the first time first time I visited Animecon and I can say, I really enjoyed myself a lot!~

So, the pro's and the cons (haha, cons! ... okay, that was a bad pun, really starting now)

Pro's:
+ I could easily reach it with the public transport.
+ The people were all nice.
+ The dealerroom was really big and I loved the setup. It felt like I was on a marketplace. A very nice feeling indeed.
+ There were nice places you could make pictures of cosplays. Some complain about the 'empty walls' apparently, but I don't think it gave off a cold feeling at all. Too much of everything can make things seem really chaotic. Much like my room at the moment...
+ I liked the 'card' that got attached to my bag when I left it in the dealerroom. It made me snicker a bit.
+ I really liked the AMV 101 workshop. I never in my life have made an AMV, though always wanted to do that. They gave some good tips. I do hope they will be doing these more and that they maybe could explain more about the techniques. Maybe show an AMV and show what kind of things that were used to make it look like that? Sorry, I'm crappy in explaining but I loved it really xD
+ Loved the Sushiworkshop too. Especially the eating all of it at the end part. Got my lunch at least that day.
+ The Mangaschool Armory lecture thingy. I actually expected to have them explain how to exactly draw it, but I was pleasantly surprised when they explained other things about weapons and armory and what you have to look out for. It gave me more insight on things.
+ I really liked the dojo too. Only did some Aikido and dropped out of Capoeira because I didn't expect that it would put that much drain on my already bad knees. But I still really enjoyed it. The teachers were really nice and the partners I had with Aikido were nice too.
+ 2 games of Tales of Xillia in the gameroom. A lot of people wanted to play it and even though not everyone got a turn, it is better than only one game.
+ A place where you could repair your cosplay, spray some deo and put some clips into your hair so your wig would stay put. I didn't need any of it myself, but friends of mine were really happy with it.

Cons:
- There wasn't that much reception for my cellphone. Not sure if I was the only one with that problem. My internet was just really bad and I couldn't really call. Not much you can do about it really since it is probably because of the building, but it was still a small annoyance.
- The Tales of Xillia contest. What was wrong with it you ask? Honestly, for me there was nothing wrong at all. I'm actually really happy and pleased since I managed to win for friday. This is actually more on behalve of others.. Hardly anyone knew about the contest. After I won I talked with some people about it and everyone just gave me a look that said 'What are you talking about?'. They actually told me that actually and I had to explain the whole contest to them and what you could win. I later on also checked the tag on Instagram and on twitter, but there weren't that many contestants. It could be partly because the internet in the basement was really bad (for me at least) but I think you could count on 2 hands how many people were part of it. Maybe the reason why there were so little was also because a some people don't have a twitter or/and a instagram. Maybe for a next time they could include tumblr, since that is for a lot of 'outcasts' so to call it. I only found out about the contest because someone of the Namco Bandai boot was so nice to start talking to me about the game while I was watching and then pointed out the contest. So entirely grateful to him! Need to burn my money on a PS3 now though...
But to shorten it down, it would be nice to get more awareness for these kind of contests.
- I think it has been pointed out already, but the schedule. I just had some trouble with it and rather used the one on the internet since it was more clearly set out, only to find out it wasn't up-to-date. Missed a lecture because of that. But even in the paper schedule things weren't completely right. Things were just a bit messy.
- Lessons that you need to pay for. Oh, don't get me wrong! That isn't my issue at all! (then why say it like that?!). It is more that some people didn't realize you had to pay for some workshops. I will give my example, the sushi workshop. Some people found out about it after they waited for a really long time at the door. Maybe next time next to the door there can be something like a big poster that says that you need to pay for the workshop?
- After the closing ceremony everyone kinda seemed to rush to leave. This made it really crowded at both the cloakroom and the public transport. When I got into the tram (seriously, what is the english word for tram? Fake train? Mix between a train and a bus? Trus?), everyone was crammed together. Solving such a problem is almost impossible I think, and a closing ceremony is closure of the event. But, this is only a suggestion, could there maybe be some kind of activity until an hour after the closing ceremony or something like that? Maybe something like an anime or a game or I don't know what. I think it could make people leave more in stages. Of course me thinking like that could be really wrong, but yeah. ^^

I think this was it? xD If I think of something else I will jsut add it later on xD

Het Ukenees (Engels) voor tram is Streetcar. :)

Sunday I was looking for the EHBO because I was suddenly faced with a 'girl problem' some days earlier than expected (convention jitters can throw off the schedule sometimes) and needed some stuff for that. The EHBO was not at the location indicated in the floor plans in the booklet. I only had a minor problem but not being able to find the EHBO right away, might get to be a problem when time really really matters!
i agreed with that one, not many people know where the EHBO before asking the gopher where is it. Some of the gopher don't even know where is it as far as i have seen o_o;

Pros
- a lot of activities to choose from
- a great deal of freedom (small bags, photography)
- clear and concise instructions how to handle the assigned task
- free walk-in for the amigurumi and kumihimo workshop :D
- two different days for the sake and whisky tasting :D
- a very large dealer room :o

Personal cons:
- expensive food and drink inside the premises, maybe a cheaper price for convention goers can be negotiated in advance?
- the water container in the gopher lounge wasn't maintained; from the two only one, near the entrance, was useable most of the time, until the last day when even that one was also empty
- difficulty locating staff members when things go wrong such as insufficient videos to fill the predetermined time slot
- locating a missing gopher assigned for a designated shift
- videos with missing subs or faulty videos that won't play correctly.

Guest complaints:
- there were several guests complaining they walked by the registration desk, because it's location wasn't clearly marked
- the same complaint was given about the whereabouts of events and such, therefore I'd like to suggest 'direction arrows/pointers', like the ones in traffic, at eye height and colored arrows on the floor to help people find their way.
- a bigger room with airco for DDR
- many guests were unaware there were two lost and found locations to check for their belongings, or lost badges
- wrongly listed event time/in congruency between the event time in the booklet and the Internet site

As for the gopher related issues.
They are noted and will be taken into account on the next meeting of the gopherplanning. :D
Thanks for your feedback.,

I can understand that completely that it is a really hard task especially since there is so much. ^^ So I'm not being mad or anything or whiny (as in, THE WORLD IS OVER NOW I MISSED THAT LECTURE (at least because of that I could join the capoeira lesson for a bit until my bad knees played up and I became semi-cripple)) about it. I bet that if I tried to make a schedule I would be a complete screw-up, so still respect for that ;)

Yay! Finally found out it is called a streetcar xD I tried looking it up in the Van Dale that I installed on my pc, but no answer there. I learned something in the middle of the night =3

If you don't mind me asking, what was the second location? Because we had the lost&found over at the cloak&bag room and tried our best to keep everything centrated there.

Thank you for your feedback. With this we can make Animecon an even better event.

Some replies to your feedback.

Cellphone reception: It must have been you, I had 78 incoming calls on Saturday which were still perfect.
Theater technical issues: We are looking for a solution for this next year. I humbly apologise for that.
Wrong music at the ball: I apologise for that as well. I am not sure where our instructions were not followed up by the DJ, and am in the process of finding that out.
Being taken out of an event: That will not happen again. I planned that incorrectly, events should have started either at 00:00 or finish at 00:00.
Directions and wall decoration: We will hang far more next year.

For the last part, I must say that we did plan a lot, but did not get around to it. We could really use your help in our gopher pool. :)

I must say that even though cell phone reception itself was great the Internet connection inside the venue was extremely slow, even at points where it said HSPA+.
The basement had no Internet reception at all.

It's mainly the building architecture though, unfortunately not something we can do something about.
Maybe the planned renovation on the building next year will help.

Not just the building...
Think of 2000+ people at the same place using internet...
If the providers did not set up extra antennas, the usual ones cannot cope with the huge increase of data transmission.
