I will ask Frank to answer your questions as I am just the convention Chairman, not in charge of the AMV compo.
I also want to know some things like if we will be running it in HD or not etc. But again, that's not up to me. |

Well, since I'm actually in charge of this (at least the technical side), I can let you know that indeed there will be an AMV contest yet again, and HD-formats are welcomed from now on. :)
Some minor adjustments are being made to the rules and regulations regarding the AMV-compo, which will be revealed later this week.
So you may start plotting your evil plans to AMV domination; you'll hear more about the technical bits soon. |

Any indication on the day and time of the compo? I have several crew members to plan in our part of the event hall, and 4 out of 6 are competing in the compo, bit hard to plan this way XD

I have the vacation to work so i hope to have something but it wont be a 3 min video like i used to make but i try to make something short but I have a pretty busy period. Besides teaching i need to finish up some stuff for my minor. |

Offcourse im attempting to make an emv, with a ecchi addict like me i'd have a "hard time".. still pondering what not to put in.. for there is an overload of e-stuff...

all i can see about the registration form is this: "For submitting an AMV to compete in the Anime 2010 AMV contest you NEED to use our downloadable AMV submission form (available soon). " even though theres a reply a bit up in this topic that says it should have been released last week.

I have a couple of questions about the submission form for the AMV contest:
I made this AMV in Adobe Premiere and I had the pre-setting at NTSC. When I export the project into a file that the computer can play it (Like an AVI), does it still retain the NTSC setting?
In the form you ask for the format. What do you mean by that? If the AMV is an AVI or something like that?
And I also don't understand about the audio codec. How do I find out what codec I used? |

Hey Super Saiyan Carfield. This is FateTSC first of all you need to check first by right-click your video and check your properties mostly you can already see you video file status. What kind of container it is and what kind of Audio or video codec. If its not then you can ask further details to my mail at Timmie_ng@hotmail.com.
I think for a Premiere user you already exported your video into NTSC if its already done by the setting. And check your file size for sure.

Read the thread: initial deadline is May 78.
Obviously, I'll give you some leeway if you submit your AMV/EMV before the deadline and it turns out something's wrong, but e-mails sent after May 7 may not make it into the competitions, unless you have a very good reason.
I also need to test the video's and give you time to make adjustments if necessary. |

It says that on the form instead of May 7th. Sort of confusing, but I think that's a very good reason to send it one day after May 7th. ;)
In all seriousness, I think it should stick at May 8th, because people might not check the forums or only download the form once and might not be aware of May 7th as deadline, don't you think?
About sending it digitally, it's kinda hard putting a signature on the PDF. Do you mind if we make a JPEG (or other graphic file) and send it like that so we scan our signature and put it there? |

Really? Hm, you're right; my mistake, I've been busy. Right, May 8 it will be.
As for the signature, there are a few options. You can digitally sign the form, you can print, sign and scan it, or you can export the filled out form to a new pdf (just do "save as" in a recent version of Adobe Reader), mail it to me and have a signed copy with you at the festival.
As long as I get something the same moment I receive your entry, it'll be OK. |
