New Back-up plan:
A friend of mine came with this idea. And i agreed with him that his idea sounded nice. Here it is:
Cosplay Hall Competition:
The idea is that there will be "someone" who rates all the cosplayers that are walking around on the convention. Yes everyone that is cosplaying makes a chance to be chosen as the best c[r]osplayer. So there is no Signup needed. The "best cosplayers" will be annouched somewhere around 6 o'clock or something? [I think that there are no cosplayers that are already leaving at 6 o'clock or somewhere around that time.
Participants: All Cosplayers
Location: Full Convention Area
Price  : i leave it to you guys if there will be something to win except having the spotlight all for your self  [ofcourse that would be more fun if there would be something to win]

Old request:
I was wondering if there will be a Cosplay-Fashion Show at Animecon this year.
The idea is kinda like a catwalk.
People that think that their cosplay is worth to be in the spotlights can sign-up and show their cosplay.
And ofcourse the best cosplay wins.
While walking on the catwalk it could be a nice idea if theres someone to tell who the person is cosplaying, what he/she used to make it etc. etc.
[yup, MADE! i think it would be unfair to join a competition thing thats going about the cosplay [and not song or act] when you didnt made it yourself but bought it somewhere]
Cause there are a lot of people who spend a lot of time at making there cosplay.
i hope you guys kinda understand the idea... im really bad ad explaining things hahaha. |

It would be a nice idea to put up such an event.
Tho all cosplayers have common skills to reply on questions to inform you on how or what made the pretty cosplay.
We already have a cosplay compo and cosplay repair/photo section.
Plenty of info is provided on ground.
Not all pretty cosplayers feel the need to be exposed as an object on a display.
Tho plenty will be willing to participate :).
The conground ofcoz is one big display, cosplayer are aware of their outfit, put it on to be seen.
I thought last year we had a info point on cosplay/repair. Information we could provide there.
I hope that we will have such an event, ofcourse there will be plenty of participants.

As the responsible person (yes I'm talking to you shiner) is not reacting here a short reaction of me.
As far as I know we are not doing a cosplay fashion show this year. The reason is not that we do not know it or are against it, it is just that the room we could use for it is not that suitable for it. People in the room would have trouble seeing the cosplayers.
Sorry, but keep the good ideas coming up. |

Hmmm, that is a good idea.
It is flexible, people could enter with more than one costume. If we combine it with a couple of pictures from the cosplay photostudio people will have something to look at...
I'm not sure we can get it all working in the next 5 weeks, but we just might and otherwise we could certainly implement it next year. I'll bump your idea up the chain of responsibility. ^__^ |
